After walking through the store, I brought my wife as we were looking to purchase a dining room table and chairs. We were greeted as we entered and were invited to look around and ask if we had any questions.
We purchased a beautiful Mission style table and Amish oak chairs. The price was not cheap, but we feel considering the American made quality and craftsmanship, the cost certainly justified the expense. NOTE: We were interested in another table and chairs at a competitor made by a company with “American” as part of its name. We found out the table was imported (not American at all). The top was 5/8 inch thick. The finish was lacquer but you could not get water on the finish because it would water stain the wood. our table looks to have a full 1 and 1/4 inch thick top. The finish is perfect for protecting against water spots and water rings. (who would buy a dining room table that wasn’t water-resistant?)
The table was delivered on schedule. The finish and workmanship was flawless. The delivery team installed the table and showed us how to operate the self-storing leaf system. The gentlemen were friendly and polite.
You get what you pay for…You can buy cheaper tables and chairs. Were we to buy another piece of furniture, we would shop at Mary Jane’s Furniture without hesitation. We recommend this store to friends/family. Plus, I like Amish people, I like their way of life. Mary Jane’s isn’t Amish, but they purchase chairs and many pieces of furniture from the Amish workers and have developed a strong working relationship with those people.
Our table was somewhat a custom design. The table was exactly what we ordered. We get compliments from all who see it. It “feels” like it belongs in our home. It should last several lifetimes.

Almost overwhelming inside with the amount of furniture and options to choose from. The people were exceptionally friendly. Couldn’t find exactly what we were looking for, so the son working the front desk got his father (the owner) to come out and go over options of building what we needed (a 72? round dining table semi distressed).
He took us to the back to show us different woods, what they look like w/the different stains applied and tried different techniques on scraps to show us the different ways to distress. Then we went through the different chair selections. This lasted about 2 hours.
Very rare to meet with the person who is actually making your furniture. They are fairly busy, so there was a 10 wk waiting list which was told to us up front. Always friendly to work with and open to any suggestions or examples to describe what you need.
Price was comparable if not more reasonable than many area furniture stores… especially considering that you are getting a custom, hand made piece that will last a lifetime.
Highly recommended and plan on going back soon to have a matching piece made. Definitely worth the drive.
I needed a key piece for my bedroom set. They were able to get exactly what I needed. They kept in touch with me on delivery time and other details. They went above and beyond to see that I was satisfied. I was such a pleasure doing business with them.
Great to work with and quality work
Frustrated because we couldn’t find what we wanted, we went to Mary Jane’s and had them custom make our dining room table. We asked for specific details done on our Mission style table and it couldn’t be more beautiful. And we think the craftsmanship is outstanding. You can’t see the seam in the table where it opens for the extension. And the extension sits hidden inside; amazing. They custom made the stain we wanted, too. You have to be patient, though. We ordered our table in January and were told it would take 13 weeks. We ordered the chairs separately and they were stained to match. We just went back this past weekend and are having them make us a copy of a Stickley coffeetable. Can’t wait for that.
Superior quality furniture
I’ve bought several “big ticket items” from them, and have been very pleased. I wanted corner china cabinets – couldn’t find them anywhere else. I did have to order them, but it was worth the wait. They are beautiful! They actually delivered them on a Sunday morning too. The other thing I got was a bench w/ attached mirror for my front hall. It is an absolutely gorgeous piece, on which I have received many compliments. There isn’t anything else I need right now, but I would definitely go back if I ever want something more.
